Chemistry within the current national curriculum has several objectives within the education of unified general high school students which expresses the text of the Ministry of Education of Ecuador: develop scientific thinking skills in order to achieve intellectual flexibility, investigating spirit and critical thinking, demonstrate curiosity to explore the environment around them and value nature as a result of understanding the interactions between living beings and the physical environment.
Recognize and value the contributions of science to understand the basic aspects of the structure and functioning of your own body, in order to apply measures to promote comprehensive health, protection and prevention. Integrate the concepts of biological, chemical, physical, geological and astronomical sciences, to understand science, technology and society, linked to the ability to invent, innovate and give solutions to the socio -environmental crisis.
Solve problems of science through the scientific method, with the identification of problems, the critical search for information, the elaboration of conjectures, the design of experimental activities, the analysis and communication of reliable and ethical results. Use Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as tools for the critical search for information, the analysis and communication of their experiences and conclusions about natural and social and social phenomena and facts.
Understand and value the history of scientific, technological and cultural development related to the action that it exercises in personal and social life.
