History of hip hop and its influence on society
All culture and hip hop lovers owe the real existence of this movement to the proclaimed father of hip hop: Clive Campbell a.k.A DJ Kool Herc. To understand the origin and history we must place ourselves before the Breakdancers, the rappers, or the same expression ‘hip hop’ existed, in the 60s.
In this decade the parties animated by DJ’s were already very popular, these were in charge of the success of the parties putting the rhythm and flavor in the vinyl, but in the early 70s these were being replaced by live bands and musicians. This is how the neighborhood parties began to collect their place, where the DJ’s occupied a new space.
Dj Kool Herc gave the Breakdance initiative, and what noticed that in the spaces of the funk songs where there was a more rhythmic musical cut and without lyrics the public was encouraged more, those now known as Break’s, so it began to manually move the needle the needleFrom the headdresses to lengthen it as much as he wanted, this is where the dancers of the time began to show their steps and skill between Break’s, for this quality HERC appointed them as Breakboy’s or B Boy’s.
Then HERC himself implemented a second vinyl album and began to move it with their hand instead of moving the needle, giving way to the particular sound of the Bop BAP, the Scratch. This is where the concept of DJ really is born. When these are defined, DJ’s competitions begin and a new genre is born: breaking.
When he appeared, dance battles between B Boy’s also began, which served as a more peaceful way to solve problems between Bronx gangs. When he was viralized by the media, this new way of dancing began to be called Breakdance.
The graffiti on the other hand, thanks to the arrival of aerosols, appears as the plastic form of expression of Bronx artists, with a unique and street style, to say, here we are New York!.
The master of ceremonies or MC did not appear specifically with hip hop, its origins with olderDrums and other instruments, followed by jazz and blues, by rhythm, musicality and poetry.
Watching back, in the 70s, in the Bronx, the DJ’s were breaking the music scene, but now with a master of ceremonies or MC next to the encourage people and handle the entire event (under opinion and powerof DJ), what today would be a host. And as usual in history, battles also began, now of Beatbox.
Following these movements, a young man named Lance Taylor, won a trip to Africa, a trip that would change the story. Upon knowing the people of Zulu and his way of living peaceful and solidarity, he stated that he should convey what he had met to the people of Bronx, changing his own name to Afrika Bambaataa.
He founded the Universal Zulú Nation in 1976 to stop the war between gang. In this, he encompassed Breaking, MC, DJ and Graffiti, known as the 4 Hip Hop elements, and the most important who are impregnated in the original essence of the latter, respect and union.
This movement was the basis of social and political struggles, as well as common problems in the neighborhoods, hip hop served as a denunciation tool by the people, of claim and even promoting social movements. The hip hop and its 4 elements allow channeling the messages of society, making solidarity among the world’s ghettos visible and the struggles against all the injustices of domain, racism and discrimination.

His mother Ageni Shakur was a pacifist leader who fought against racism did African -American populations, as well as an important member of the black panthers.
Tupac had a childhood full of the revolutionary example thanks to his parents. Tattoo t.H.OR.G l.Yo.F.AND.
‘The t.H.OR.G. L.Yo.F.AND. In the 2pac abdomen it is the most emblematic tattoo in the history of hip hop and possibly the most recognized tattoo in the history of music.
Tupac tattooed it in December 1992 at the local Dago’s Tattoo in Houston. Although he has lost his meaning these days by people who occupy him without a meaning, for Tupac Thug Life it was an acronym for ‘The Hate U Give Little Infants Fucks Everybody’ (the hatred they give to the children fuck us all). Which means that if we continue raising children in a negative and depressing environment, surrounded by racism, violence and oppression, then the cycle will prolong and never end
The ‘I’ in ‘Life’ was replaced by a bullet.
Tupac redefined the meaning of Thug Life after the murder of Quid Walker Teal, a six -year -old boy who was the victim of a lost bullet in a fight that originated in a concert in Marin City at the end of 1992.
"Inside my mind, I couldn’t find a place to rest, until I got that thing like tattooed in my chest.". – (Excerpt from the song So Many Tears by Tupac Shakur).
In 1993 2pac would write an ethical code for criminals to regulate gang violence. That code would be called Code of Thug Life. Some of the code points would not sell drugs in parks or schools, not selling drugs to pregnant women or children, prohibiting the shootings by car, your enemy’s family are not your enemies, not abusing the elderly, gang leaders shouldchoose a diplomat which should work in finishing disputes, among other points.
To this day that tattoo has become a cultural icon imitated by various artists, musicians and common people in photographs, paintings, videos, tattoos, etc. 2pac forever "
The HIP Hop HotBeyond the movements, the vibes that emits music in any of its forms is something inexplicable, music is that energy that we manage to convey through a sound, it may or may not have a logical sense, but always transmits something, sometimesLiteral, sometimes abstract, but always seeks to create an emotion in which the person hearing, feels something unique, from the movements that give the creation of a dance to a real discourse, all this is unique.
The words or lyrics in a song can encompass the message that is sought to convey, however the true result of the interpretation of the message will always be typical of the listener, based on their mood, their experiences, its maturity, and many more variants. But the really interesting are the repercussions that it can have, as we saw before, DJ Kool Herc with the simple fact of wanting to experience more with its music unleashed a dominated effect to the point of creating a whole culture, a culture that after almost50 years can be considered the strongest urban culture that exists.
It is a means for the low social classes and the youth of the neighborhoods to express their anger and disobedience to the system. But important to analyze it through a social prism.
Hip hop is like heaven, it is abstract, it is chameleonic, it can be calm, it can have a sad rain, you can give you a new vision of the day, you can change and always convey something different, but without losing its essence, because the hypHop is the reflection of low life. From him the genre with the most social impact that exists, it is the voice of those who have no voice, it is the voice of the street, of the marginalized, it is the cry of the banks telling us: "Here we are".
