Gothic literature and its advantages

Introduction

Superiority of cinema literature. Jonathan David Núñez de Cáceres González. Some critics stubbornly defend the supposed superiority of cinema literature, but it cannot be said that one is superior than another. Evaluate the qualities of literature and cinematography, as well as the advantages of each. Cinematography has certain elements that cannot be found in literature, also, literature covers certain things that are not seen in movies. And of course, they also have their similarities that make them interact with each other, giving the same importance.

Cinematography has certain advantages that make it better than literature in certain aspects. For example, movies are more attractive than books, not being limited by the sense of reality of each person. At the same time, special effects have experienced great development, impacting the field of visual aesthetics. The soundtrack also helps to understand and interpret how a character can feel.

Developing

On the other hand, literature has many details for the simplest things, cinematography does not enter so much details, or at least in the same way, an image says more than a thousand words, and only shows the most exciting and important events. As for the experience, the cinematographic is more social, you can enjoy a way out of the cinema or meet in a house to watch a movie with friends or family, unlike the books that the same experience cannot be obtained.

On the other hand, literature also has its advantages that make the reader enjoy and get a rewarding experience. The example, with the books you can learn more about the characters, and with this it is easier to identify with the main character. Not only know him, but to understand his way of thinking, as a result, understand the actions he carries out, making history more sense, since you not only see the character act, but also get into his head and read his thoughts andreasoning.

It should be mentioned that the books being more extensive have more important details that are skipped in the movies, it is not uncommon that in an adaptation of book to film, one of the favorite scenes of the public and added more action has been skipped, andWhat sells in the cinematographic world. The author can use from a dialogue line to a paragraph, or even an entire chapter to give the reader the background information they need.

It is still possible to point out the plot makes more sense in the books, since the point of the books is to tell a story, in contrast to the films that a large part of its intention is to be visually spectacular. Another feature of literature is that they leave several details to the imagination, allow you to be more creative and imagine the characters, places, scenes in the way you want, since each one can have their own interpretation.

Likewise, literature and cinematography have some similarities, such as their narrative structures, presentation, knot and outcome. The classification of characters, according to their characteristics they can be flat or round, the flat characters, usually the main character is a round character and the secondary characters are flat characters.

The characters are also classified by their function, protagonists, antagonists, secondary or environmental. In literature as in the cinema, the actions are located in a space and time, there are characters and we know what happens through argument and dialogue. Both have similar genres, such as adventures, science fiction, police, historical, tragedy, drama, comedy, etc.

Cinema and literature are considered art, both are made with a communicative purpose, through which they express ideas, emotions and, in general, a worldview. They are components of culture, and reflect in their conception the transmission of ideas and values inherent to any human culture throughout space and time. The cinema awakens emotions in the spectators, the movies make laugh, shout, cry, sigh.

Aristotle said that emotions are generated when a tragedy is seen because the actors, after many rehearsals and thanks to their ability and talent, are able to generate a real shock. As for literature, this is no stranger to the emotional world, and the purpose of the fictional literary text is to produce emotional effects. Fiction narrative allows you to experience emotions and better understand real life.

conclusion

In both you can identify with the protagonist, adopt their goals, plans, strategies, but the greatness of fiction is that although these goals and strategies are not real, the emotions that the spectators feel if they are. So that none can be proclaimed like supreme art. Literature is the art of verbal expression, while cinema is a moving image.

Each one has its advantages over the other. In the case of cinema it is visually attractive, it captures attention with a soundtrack, you can enjoy socially. On the other hand, literature has necessary details to understand the entire plot and to be able to feel a connection with the characters, since you can know what goes through the head of the characters. Reasons why, no, literature is not superior to cinematography, or vice versa.
