Introduction

Walter Elías Disney was born on December 5, 1901. His dad was called Elías Disney and was a carpenter and his mother Flora Disney was a teacher. Walter had 5 brothers, one of them named Roy, with whom he was more united. When Walter was 5 years old, he moved with his family to a farm of a small town located in Marceline, Missouri. It was there that he began to like the drawing, while his older brothers worked taking care and maintenance of the home, he drew with his younger sister called Ruth.    

Developing

When Walter was 10 years old, he towards cartoons and sold them to have some money, and from that moment he began to discover his passion for art, then he enrolled in a drawing school to learn some new techniques. When did he turn 17, he moved to Kansas City with his brother Roy? Where, he looked for a cartoonist, and met his great friend Ubbe Iwerks, whom he also liked to draw.

Next to him, they created many drawing, film and advertising companies, which did not function as they wanted. Then, Walter decided to move to Hollywood and in 1923 he set up, with his brother Roy, his own company called Disney Brothers Studio. To which he later joined in 1924 and together they began to design their characters.

In 1925 when Walter was 24 years old, he married one of the women who worked in his studios, her name was Lillian Bounds. With her he had 2 daughters Diane Marie and Sharon Mae. In 1926 they decided to change the name to the company and began to be called Walt Disney Studio. Moment in which together with his wife and his friend, they created and baptized their first film character named Mickey Mouse, with whom they put together their first black and white video, with sound.

To which Minnie’s girlfriend later added. In 1932 he created his series called "Silly Symphonies", they had trees and color flowers. That same year he trained in the study, the first school of cartoonists and animators. Then, in 1934 Donald Duck, along with Pluto and Goofy. And 3 years later in 1937, Walt Disney created his first color cartoon movie; "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs".

Followed to that movie the following were released, created in his studies:

  • Pinocchio (1940)
  • Fantasy (1940)
  • Dumbo (1941)
  • BAMBI (1942)

Then he began to combine human actors with cartoons in; Greetings, friends (1943) and the three gentlemen in (1945); to those that followed: Cinderella (1950), Alicia in Wonderland (1951) and Peter Pan (1952). After a long job with films and series, Walt Disney created their amusement parks where they sell products from their characters and in turn are an entertainment center for the family.

The first to open its doors to the public was Disneyland in 1955 located in California. That same year Walt was a grandfather for the first time of one of the 10 grandchildren he had years later. Walter smoked a lot and that is why he suffered lung cancer, which is why he died on December 15, 1966.

Before he died he had carried out the project of his second theme park called Disney World that opened its doors in 1971, in Florida. Followed in 1983 tokio Disneyland in Japan and Euro Disney in Paris in 1992. The Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladinn (1992) and the Lion King in (1994).
