Introduction
Colonialism is a system of government with political and military means from one country to another. A state with high economic and military power, called metropolis, has direct control over an area outside its borders, which is called Colonia. The colonies have no autonomy or self-determination, that is, its legislative and fiscal structure is determined by the metropolis. Although colonized areas are being violently captured, this does not mean that the population does not want to be part of the metropolis. In fact, local populations have been able to identify with the nationality imposed over the centuries.

Colonialism has existed thousands of years, in general, when we talk about colonialism, we refer to European colonialism, which was initiated in the fifteenth century by France, Great Britain, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Russia and Germany and that was held untilthe twentieth century. The latter uses indirect control and violence to influence, or subjugate a territory, examples of this are, mercantilism, political sponsorship, corporate globalization.

All official empires arose thanks to colonialist politics. However, imperialism can exist without colonialism, that is, without the use of military force. This is produced by the economic, cultural or political influence that a power can have in the countries that depend on it, usually for economic reasons. Traditional colonialism exercises direct control through military force.

Ethiopia, Liberia and the Orange and Transvaal free states were the only areas that could evade colonization by European countries. Spain and Portugal, whose territories were also the target of British, French and Germans, were able to preserve them and even expand them.

The British and Portuguese had their accesses to the continent in the ports of Hong Kong and Macao. Other powers also wanted their part of the Chinese territory, so that France, Germany and Russia, in addition to extrajudicial rights, could also obtain Chinese ports and territories in which they controlled all trade, finances and customs.
