Civil Engineering from Antiquity

Since ancient times, the question of the question has originated how the men discovered and began to build their homes? And currently, you have wondered what would our life be like if these men had never started to build? What would our life be like, without a roof, without a home to live?, Therefore, the issue that I will develop is … Civil Engineering that is defined as an engineering branch that is clearly designed, building and maintaining infrastructure through the use of different techniques and models to meet constructions needs.

Then I will mention the history of civil engineering that are divided into three that are; In prehistory, in the Middle Ages and in modernity. Then the technological environment of civil engineering will be mentioned, such as; Earth and man, science and society, technology and society. Finally the main branches of civil engineering that are; Civil Engineering of Earthquakes, Civil Engineering of Transportation and Civil Engineering of Materials.

The history of civil engineering dates back to three stages and are; Civil Engineering in Prehistory, in the Middle Ages and in Modernity, which will be explained below. First, civil engineering in prehistory according to Sarria. Thanks to this reasoning, civil engineering became one of the main tools for evolution. Then, civil engineering in the Middle Ages dates back to 600 d year.C. As Rolingson stands out "the Catholic religion was what led to techniques that allowed great jobs with less staff", this is how great advances were had at that time. And in modernity, after the industrial revolution, there were other processes that also influenced history, such as the experiments that opened the doors to the studies of electromagnetic fields and thus achieve electricity.

According to Molina “there are indispensable technological environments that are; Earth and man, science and society, technology and society "

In the first environment, the man used his intelligence to modify some areas and regions of the planet and thus obtain advantages of natural resources. This also generated a notorious evolution that led to civilization. In science and society it has been the human activity that allowed the development of some devices that have helped in the construction of various buildings, knowing how to take advantage of the resources of the environment. In this environment of technology and society, very fundamental work is performed, providing methods that promote beneficial achievements for human being, as today the use of special machinery is known to facilitate constructions.

Finally, we will talk about the various branches through which a means of civilization are reached. As Bansad refers to “civil engineers do much more than design houses and bridges. They can develop within other branches with facilities development ”. Civil Engineering of earthquakes is the branch of new additions to civil engineering, it has the important objective of building adequate buildings to support an earthquake. Then, Civil Transportation Engineering is the branch that is responsible for planning, design and due protection of roads, railways, airports, etc. Finally the civil engineering of materials; It is the professional path that is currently important in technology, this branch guarantees the achievement of each technique through tactics designed.

In conclusion, civil engineering is defined as an engineering branch that is clearly designed, building and maintaining infrastructure through the use of different techniques and models to meet constructions needs. The history of civil engineering dates back to three stages and are; Civil Engineering in Prehistory, in the Middle Ages and in Modernity, which will be explained below. According to Molina “there are indispensable technological environments that are; The land and man, science and society, technology and society ”, finally the main branches of civil engineering, this is the various branches through which a means of civilization are reached. As Bansad refers to “civil engineers do much more than design houses and bridges. They can develop within other branches with facilities development ”. People who want to study this wonderful career and be able to know better about it, or for those who are already about to be great professionals, they need to know widely about history, branches, etc. Thus being able to be informed and develop better in the branch that was chosen, and by taking care of other people’s lives and the environment with well -elaborate and designed buildings.
