Carbon dioxide on Earth

Carbon dioxide is a gas that contributes to life on earth and the development of different processes in it, such as photosynthesis, a method by which plants make them oxygen and release it;Breathing in humans, which unlike plants transform oxygen into carbon dioxide and release it. In this way a balance is generated in the amount of these two gases on Earth. However, the amount of these two gases on Earth is not equitable due to different natural and unnatural factors.

Carbon dioxide is also a fundamental part of the greenhouse effect, through vibrations that allow the entry of heat to the earth but its exit, which causes global warming. Man needs to create viable solutions to combat this phenomenon and seek balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide and thus take care of the planet to lead a healthy life.

Carbon dioxide also known as carbon dioxide, is a gas that results from the breathing of animals and the combustion of substances such as firewood, coal, plastic, oil, or on the contrary in plants it is absorbed during photosynthesis. After these processes, the released gas rises to the atmosphere and has different functions in the atmospheric filter and the greenhouse effect.

During the geological activity, marine sediments are transformed into rock and this process releases carbon dioxide.

Finally, in the physical aspect, carbon dioxide dissolves in the rain, then in the oceans and returns to the atmosphere again.

Earth’s climate is a product of interaction between sunlight, atmosphere and oceans. The sun provides energy in the form of solar radiation, part of this radiation is reflected back to space. The rest is absorbed by clouds, atmospheric gases, including carbon dioxide and land surface.

As mentioned above, the greenhouse effect is a vital process for the earth, this is responsible for capturing heat through different gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, dyitrogen oxide and chlorofluorocarbons. The gases are concentrated and the process is carried out by means of vibrations of several atoms typical of the gas molecules, this maintains the land temperature in an average of 15 ºC.

As for the percentages of the greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide occupies 74% being the one with the highest percentage.

In recent years, the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased, the average gas was two hundred and eighty PPM, however in 1800 in the industrial revolution, the average increased by 40% reaching the three hundred and ninety ppm. Different investigations have been carried out that show that if the amount of normal carbon dioxide becomes double, the land temperature can increase from 2 ºC to 4.4 ºC, which results in the elevation of sea level, the molten of ice layers and the melting of polar regions.

Carbon dioxide is found in both natural and unnatural means, among unnatural chemical reactions, firewood and oil and aerosols are. In non -natural media, plastic is a very harmful means to the environment, this is composed of tereftallic acid, with which polyesters such as dachron. When tereftallic acid reacts with ethylene glycol bonds are formed at the two ends of the molecules and this causes the combination of long molecules in a polyester polymer. On the other hand, in the event that carbon dioxide decreases, there would be an excess of oxygen on the planet, which would cause fires frequently due to combustion in forest places. In places like the Amazon it is common that there are fires at certain times of the year, due not only to the combustion that is generated but to the intensity of the sun, this is clearly harmful to the planet and if the decreased carbon dioxide will decrease, these phenomena would occureven more frequently.

The planet’s resources are finite and therefore it is necessary to reduce its consumption. The environment worries and this anguish has been increasing and associations and organisms dedicated to their study and protection have been created, treaties, protocol and laws have also been signed in different countries with the end in mind of taking care of the planet and the species thatIn the inhabit and limit the emission of harmful products. However, these processes have not been successful by stopping the process of exhaustion and misuse of land resources, nor of environmental pollution. On the contrary, to volcanic eruptions are added accidental or indirectly caused disasters that contribute to air pollution and water, the deetization of large areas of the planet, deforestation of forests, disappearance of species and animals, to theradicalization of climatic changes, the decrease in the ozone layer and the increase in diseases.

It is evident that there is no balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide on Earth, fortunately the amount of oxygen is not yet limited, however this can change in a few years, since the rhythm with which global warmingIt grows and pollution increases, the earth deteriorates and in a few years oxygen levels will be very low and the excess of other gases, including carbon dioxide will cause the Earth to be not a habitable place.

To combat this imbalance and prevent the earth from continuing to deteriorate, there are different solutions, such as reforestation, recycling and the use of organic materials.

Regarding reforestation, there are different projects and entities that drive tree planting, this in search of creating more forest places, generating more oxygen and as mentioned above, to balance gas levels.

On the side of recycling and organic materials, it seeks not only to reduce the use of plastics, paper, cardboard, among other inputs, but to reuse them and based on these creation new materials. 

The recycling process would lead to negative feedback, which is the process contrary to the greenhouse effect, that is, polar capsAtmosphere but to space, reducing global warming and causing terrestrial temperatures to return to normal.
