A worn path
Introduction
We park the vehicle in the parking lot of the recreational area and enter the picnic. We climb the hill by raffling the fountain, the tables, the children’s space and the sculpture of one of the most representative animals of the pool, the Iberian pig. After touring about 600 m we reach a properly signposted roads, we will turn left following the crossing of the Sierra de France in the direction of Monforte de la Sierra. The road is wide and allows us to enjoy the leafy holm oak forest and one of the mentioned works of art.
Developing
When we carry approximately 1.5 km of travel We must cross the road that goes to Soto Serrano. Now the landscape changes and the holm oak. In this section of the route, we will appreciate some of Land Arte’s works., But, also, we will see evidence of religious traditions as a cross at the top of a mound or the hermitage of old majadas.
At this point, we leave the journey of the Sierra de France and we will continue along the path of Fuente Castaño Laguna de San Marcos Ermita de Majadas Travel, which deviates to the left. This path is narrower, but with enough breadth to be followed without difficulty until reaching the road that is directed towards Mogarraz and we must cross. We continue the road, accompanied by the work of art oak leaves towards the most beautiful area of the tour, the San Marcos lagoon.
The San Marcos lagoon is a natural wetland, but reinforced by the hand of man, which is surrounded by an oak that is cataloged with special interest. This lake shelters a significant amount of flora and fauna. It is very easy to see greeninegros lizards, collection lizards and amphibians such as the frog of San Antonio, if the lagoon is surrounded.
In the immediate vicinity, there are the remains of the hermitage of San Marcos and a natural viewpoint towards the Sierra de France and the emblematic sanctuary of the Peña de France. The views are spectacular and the natural enclave invites relaxation and rest, enjoying each aroma and sound that nature gives us. The recreational area of Fuente Castaño is the perfect place to replenish forces. Children can play freely in contact with nature and without any danger.

- Walk through the medieval town of Mogarraz, on whose facades, are the portraits of the approximately 388 inhabitants who dwelt in the town in 1967.
- Get to the rock of France Alt. 1.727 m to enjoy the views and see the monastery of Our Lady of the Peña de France that custody to the black virgin.
conclusion
We continue along the path drawn on the right margin of the lagoon to go to a forest track that plans with soft and down. When we take travel 1.5 km from the San Marcos lagoon, we will see that there is the possibility of deviating to the right towards the source of the vein, a cattle waterfront that is about 200 m.
If we opt for approaching the source, then we must go back to continue along the main road between the Robles Forest. We will see two other works by Earth Art., Before reaching the recreational area where the excursion ends. The hermitage of old majadas stands in an area where the pastors raised their cabins and saved the cattle. Currently, it houses a replica of the Virgin of Our Lady of the Old Majas, in whose honor, a pilgrimage is celebrated on Pentecost day.
